About me

I’ve enjoyed writing and creating for about as long as I can remember. When I was little I used to love those projects at school where you’d have to make a little book or something like that about a topic like the Titanic or the Spanish Armada – not only the writing of it but also the deign of it; fonts, colours, layout, the whole shebang. Flash forward to university and I started writing my first books, called The Chronicles of Darkness – and again I relished not only creating the story but also doing the marketing for it, creating posters and trailers and graphics and logos. All so much fun, it felt like building a world with words.

Most recently I’ve been working on my current series of books, The Adventures of Edward Brett, about an ancient god who travels around Britain in a campervan fighting monsters. It’s hilariously good fun to write, plus again the joy of creating the physical marketing world around the books is something I really enjoy – from cover and logo design to making trailers and all sorts of exciting bits and pieces.

I grew up in Kent, diddled around in Surrey for a bit and finally I’ve found myself in what I consider to be the best city in the whole wide world – Cardiff! I moved here last year (well, 2024 – for all I know you’re reading this on some retro-fitted laptop in the year 3042, in which case I hope living underwater is going well) and I haven’t looked back. When I’m not scribbling or creating, I love gardening, shopping or a good day out – you know the whole enchilada; packed lunch, nice place where there’s a cool giftshop, good weather, crackin’ view. Brilliant stuff.
